COVID-19 has been an unexpected crisis across the globe, and Catalina Island has been impacted as well. To follow the recommendation given by the State, it’s recommended that tourists do not visit Catalina Island at this time. As tough as it may be, this is being done to keep visitors and residents safe. Resorts throughout the island have suspended operations through May 31, 2020. We expect activity to resume on June 1, 2020, although this can change.
The Catalina Island Medical Center recommends that residents exercise an abundance of caution during this time. While the immediate risk to the general public is low on Catalina Island, it’s recommended that the public reduces human-to-human contact, avoid toughing the face, and to keep hands clean.
